AHEAD FROM PREVIOUS POST [Bank of Japan back in stimulus mode……]

…………………………………AHEAD FROM PREVIOUS POST

[ i.e., Bank of Japan in Stimulus Mode]

The case of Bank of Japan and that of the Federal Reserves at USA turns to be a clear example of  two events, i.e, First being What is Meaning of Zero Interest Rate Regime and Second it demonstrates a great wide valley of interest rate deferential being created among Developed Economies on one side and Emerging Nations Economies on other side. The same was very much visible in the recently concluded IMF Meet of Finance Ministers and Central Banker of these two clear groups.

The two self styled protagonists to name United States of America for Developed Economies and the other one being China for Emerging Economy Nations, could not reach any point of consensus to overcome currency war spread across the Globe. In the ensuing blame game, on one hand USA was requesting IMF-World Bank to make and keep a through visible on currency valuation and exchange rate in China; China spread its worry and held United States of America responsible for destablinsing the economies of the nations grouped as emerging economies. China claimed that it was not only the alone case of what USA managed in Brazil, but China and India too are not being spared.

Few of nations coming under Emerging Economies out of a list of Twenty Eight now are taking the measures to start putting a tax regime on certain kind of cash inflows as well as inflows above a certain volume too. If all the emerging nations are going to be forced to adopt such measures, then very fabric of Global Markets and Globalization as process will become extinct soon and defeat the objectives of the agreements already signed in this direction. But then, this is a situation as on date, which has a very small but sure probability of  shaping out, given the behavior and turn being witnessed in the fiscal as well as monetary policies of Developed Economies.

In an effort to conclude the write up so as it could be gone through easily the is being turned to Indian Markets. Indian Markets may get saved from the damage that huge amount of Cash Inflows are capable of causing. But till the task is not over, the torchbearers at Indian Economic Infrastructure, may not afford a sound sleep.

As per the expectations and sentiments in Indian Economy at present, launch of a large number of IPOs is being expected and awaited. These IPOs may provide a cushion by working as antidotes against huge cash inflows, that may result due to the reasons of a Huge Interest Rate differential.

Its not all over, and will or may continue for longer time with or without time interval, but at the moment I would love to say—————————————————

OBAMA CALLS FOR RELEASE OF JAILED LIU XIAOBO

US PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA HAS CALLED FOR THE RELEASE OF THIS YEAR’S NOBEL PEACE PRIZE WINNER – JAILED CHINESE DISSIDENT LIU XIAOBO. OBAMA HAS PRAISED XIAOBO AS AN ELOQUENT AND COURAGEOUS SUPPORTER OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND DEMOCRACY. A POET AND LITERATURE PROFESSOR, XIAOBO WAS SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS IN PRISON IN 2009.

HE’S THE CO-AUTHOR OF CHARTER 08, A CALL FOR POLITICAL REFORM AND HUMAN RIGHTS. HE HAD PLAYED A LEADING ROLE IN THE TIANAN-MEN SQUARE STUDENT’S PROTEST OF 1989. LIU XIAOBO WAS AWARDED THE NOBEL, DESPITE CHINA WARNING THE NOBEL COMMITTEE NOT TO GIVE HIM THE PRIZE SAYING IT WILL HARM RELATIONS WITH NORWAY.

Thorbjoern Jagland, the Norwegian Nobel Committee chairman, said Liu Xiaobo was a symbol for the fight for human rights in China and the government should expect that its policies face scrutiny.

“China has become a big power in economic terms as well as political terms, and it is normal that big powers should be under criticism,” Jagland said.

Unlike some in China’s highly fractured and persecuted dissident community, the 54-year-old Liu has been an ardent advocate for peaceful, gradual political change, rather than a violent confrontation with the government.

Meanwhile Beijing blasted the Chinese dissident’s Nobel Peace Prize win on Friday, calling the decision to award Liu Xiaobo the honour as a “blasphemy”.

Ma Zhaoxu, spokesman for China’s foreign ministry, said the award is supposed to be given to those who “promote national harmony, international friendship” and work toward peace.

Liu is serving an 11-year prison term after being sentenced in 2009 for inciting subversion of state power. He is the co-author of Charter 08, a call for political reform and human rights, and was an adviser to the student protesters at Tiananmen Square in 1989.

“Liu Xiaobo is a convicted criminal sentenced to jail by Chinese justice. His acts are in complete contradiction to the purpose of the Nobel Peace Prize,” Ma said.

The selection of Liu was made by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, whose president said the dissident won for his “long and nonviolent struggle for fundamental human rights in China.”

However, Ma said that while China and Norway have recently had “good relations,” the committee’s decision would harm future dealings between China and Norway.

The Nobel Committee stood by its choice and said it had expected China to react strongly.

“We have a very strong tradition of awarding the prize to human rights activists of many different kinds,” Geir Lundestad, director of the Nobel Institute, told CNN.

The institute assists the committee in selecting the prize each year.

Lundestad cited German pacifist and journalist Carl von Ossietsky in 1935, Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel in 1986, Myanmar pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi in 1991, and Iranian campaigner Shirin Ebadi in 2003 as examples of human rights activists who have won the prize.

“This is a tradition we are very proud of, and this is a tradition for which the Norwegian Nobel Committee has received much applause,” Lundestad said. “We felt that if we were serious about this tradition, we did have to come to terms with the question of China in this perspective, and this is what we then did this year.”

China’s response came in stark contrast to glowing reaction from around the world.

“Awarding the Peace Prize to him is the international community’s recognition of the increasing voices among the Chinese people in pushing China towards political, legal and constitutional reforms,” said the Dalai Lama, who won the prize in 1989. “I believe in the years ahead, future generations of Chinese will be able to enjoy the fruits of the efforts that the current Chinese citizens are making towards responsible governance.”

RACIST E-MAIL ROW: INDIA SUMMONS OZ ENVOY

The Ministry of External Affairs on Saturday summoned the Australian High Commissioner over the racist e-mail scandal involving top Victorian police officers joking about an Indian train passenger’s electrocution. In a shocking incident, top Australian police officers were caught in a racist e-mail scandal joking about the electrocution of an Indian train passenger and suggesting that it could be “a way to fix the Indian student problem” in Melbourne. The po

lice officers of the Australian state of Victoria circulated sickening video footage showing the death of the man, who was travelling on the roof of a crowded train in India, the Herald Sun reported. When the train stopped at a station the man stood up and touched an overhead power cable. Onlookers screamed as he was electrocuted, showed the clip contained in one of the offending e-mails.

The e-mail containing the shocking video began circulating in the Victoria Police computer system and racist comments were added, suggesting “this might be a way to fix the Indian student problem”. The paper said it has discovered some of the force’s highest-ranked officers have been implicated in the scandal, which also involves pornographic material. Three superintendents were nabbed during an investigation into the circulation of inappropriate e-mails through the police computer system and several inspectors have also been caught, the report said. E-mails probed by the Ethical Standards Department’s (ESD’s) Operation Barrot contain pornographic, homophobic, racist and violent material.

Reacting to the scandal, Chief Commissioner Simon Overland described the e-mails as “disturbing, offensive and gross”. The scandal involving “sick” Victorian police officers came at a time when the force’s command was trying to ease racial tension after a number of assault cases involving Indian students living in Melbourne.

Victorian Premier John Brumby criticized the actions of the police who circulated the racist material. “This is completely offensive and contrary to the views and values at the heart of the Victorian community – tolerance and respect,” he said.

A police spokesman said the e-mails were offensive. “These are matters which demanded we took action. Some of the content was extremely offensive and we can’t tolerate that within the ranks of Victoria Police,” he said. Premier John Brumby has criticized the actions of the police who circulated the racist material. “This is completely offensive and contrary to the views and values at the heart of the Victorian community – tolerance and respect,” he said. Federation of Indian Students spokesman Gautam Gupta said he was appalled at the incident. “It is outrageous that police officers would joke about the death of anyone. I am really shocked. This is humor in very, very bad taste,” he said. The incident seems to have surfaced at a time of simmering racial tensions faced by Indians living in Australia. Commenting on the issue, Australian Envoy, Peter Varghese said, “The e-mail is unfortunate and completely unacceptable, one police officer concerned has already left the police post while facing investigations. The other faces serious disciplinary proceedings.”

Victorian police and Victoria’s premiere have already condemned the incident. The conduct of only two police officers does not mean the entire Victorian police is biased against the Indian community. It is unfortunate that this incident has taken away the many steps that we undertook to make the Indian community feel safer after last year’s attacks, he added. Meanwhile, India’s External Affairs Minister SM Krishna has reacted on the racist e-mail in Australia, saying “It’s shocking and a matter of serious concern.”

Ministry of External Affairs sources said, Australian High Commissioner was told the implication of involvement of police officers is shocking and of serious concern and India understands that a probe is already underway. India also wants action against the concerned officers and expects the authorities to ensure safety of people of Indian origin in Australia.
